The boy’s got some extra work to be getting on with, so I’m making my way over to Lifters Gym, pretty much my favorite place in the world.

I step into the main free weights area and it’s like I’m in heaven.

Pumping music, heavy weights, and a whole heap of testosterone in the air.

Oh, and my buddy Kyle Chaser is here too…

‘Hey, Soleil, over here!’ Kyle calls out, his super-smooth appearance and cocky smile as bright as ever. ‘I’m thinking today is a day for smashing some PBs, no?’

‘Fuck yeah,’ I reply.

We embrace. The connection between us is strong – it’s only platonic, but definitely a real kind of love that can exist between two Daddies.

It’s great that I’ve got a Daddy friend like Kyle to hang out with.

We’ve known each other a long time and have definitely been through some ups and downs in that time. The one consistent thing though has been our friendship.

Kyle’s a real brother, even though it’s not a biological connection.

When I retired it was Kyle who was there for me to make sure that I didn’t have too many dark days. In fact, Kyle was one of the big reasons that I decided to make personal training my new career.

‘Okay, let’s lift some serious fucking weight,’ I say, eyeing up the 60KG dumbbells. ‘Four sets of twelve. Let’s get pumped.’

‘You know it,’ Kyle replies, already sitting down on the bench and getting himself primed to lift.

We work out, and we work out hard.

Neither one of us wants to take a backward step, and we push each other on to better things.

It might get competitive at times, but we’ve got one another’s back…

‘Keep going! Fight it. Fight that fucking weight,’ I roar, giving Kyle the encouragement he needs to beat his bench-press personal best.

‘Yeah!’ Kyle hollers, delighted to have made it. ‘I think I need a shower. I’m all fucking done for the day.’

‘No, you can’t be all done,’ I say, a grin on my face.

‘Please don’t tell me you want to do cardio,’ Kyle replies. ‘I’ll jump out of this fourth story window if you tell me we’re doing cardio!’

‘Relax, bro,’ I reply, struggling to contain my laughter. ‘No, we’re going to go to The Fluffy Diaper. Aaron will be there and so will his friends. You into it?’

‘Now that I can get into!’ Kyle replies. ‘Take me to the boys!’

We walk out of the gym and hit the showers.

There will be fun and games ahead at The Little Diaper and I want to be as fresh and clean as I can for my darling baby boy…
